It has begun! Or at least it begins this weekend! OKRF is the short version of Oklahoma Renaissance Faire. It is held EVERY May at the Castle of Muskogee located (where else?) in Muskogee, Oklahoma USA.
I love faire season. Muskogee is the closest faire to me so it is the main one I attend. It has a lot to offer whether you are a photographer, people watcher, or just like to get out and have fun!
If you like to dress up, there are plenty of places to get new costumes or to add to an existing one. I love multi-use pieces and costumes! Halloween is a great time to dig out bits and pieces or the whole costume and be an original! Most people don’t even associate the costume with Renaissance Faires. They just think it’s cool! My favorite is of course Damsel In This Dress! Michelle makes the most awesome outfits.
They go great with everything! 😀
People watching and joining in the fun is an awesome time at Oklahoma Ren-Faire too! There are games, shopping, and plenty of entertainment! Check out the castle website for more details…and they are on facebook too where acts and venders have been featured as a preview!
My favorite acts at OKRF are:
1. Royal Gauntlet birds of prey….this is where I spend most of my time! I can’t get enough! So stop by…you’ll find the show in the jousting arena. Check the programs for times or find a falconer….
2. The Jolly Rogers…..my pirate fix! I love pirates. The Jolly Rogers are a singing pirate group. They sing folk songs and sea chanties. I promise you will laugh!
Come to faire! Then share your experience with comments made HERE!
Collages are alot of fun! The photo session is only a part of the experience for me…I can’t describe the enjoyment I get from these projects! They are awesome!
It isn’t often you get to see so many “girls” enjoying such an event as this one pictured above. We all loved it. My daughter also attended 2011’s open hunt and is already planning on accompanying me to the one that will surely take place in the fall of 2012, this year!
The enjoyment we shared out in the field was what I tried to put into this collage. I know it is different than the family portrait collage…but collages can come in may variations. You just need the imagination and the inspiration….and viola!
I hope this one looks familiar. This collage was done to show my photos in a unique way. I enjoy photographing many different things. Most people think of photography as just portraits or art that you hang on your wall. Most people thing of the portrait side. Art is usually another category all together. I think it all links together. This is my hobby; my work; my passion; my career…..and I love it! I hope you do too.
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma is but one of Tulsa’s neighbors. There is a lot of rich history for both towns. One thing I like about Broken Arrow is its support of our troops.
This is a memorial erected at Veteran’s Park on Main Street. It is actually a memorial for the women who have served in the armed forces from the American Revolution through the present day. There are photos that make it eye-catching and draw the youngest that cannot read to the oldest who can relate the history.
The support of our troops shows the support of those who have given us our rights to freedom and the way we live life today. Without our Armed Forces both past, present (and future) there would be no United States and our freedoms, I am sure, would be fewer. Thank you to those that have served….
While spring is not officially here until March 21st, Spring break is right around the corner!
The weather here in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area has been giving us sneak peeks at what is to come. I hope some have been able to get out and enjoy it! I cannot wait! I am looking forward to more outdoor shoots and the ren-fairs that are coming too!
Senior Portraits taken outdoors are almost in session! On location photography is starting to bloom for the year too! Such an exciting time! Come and JOIN US!
Photo Collages are a popular thing today. They are easily displayed, versatile, and creative.
I love projects like this as they incorporate all my favorite things about photography and people.
Have yours made today!
Misha’s photography can make a special collage from your favorite photos as a uniquely special gift to that special person or family member. Or, you can set up a session and have a collage done from your session photos.
Have FUN! The art of photos is ever changing as is the journey of life. Enjoy!
This year’s open hunt was held in Coweta, OK off of highway 51.
The weather was good and the demonstrations were plentiful.
If you were there, you had a unique experience. Royal Gauntlet showed a Eurasian Eagle Owl, a Saker Falcon, a Peregrine Falcon, a Great Horned Owl, a few Harris Hawks, a few Red-tailed Hawks, and a couple of flight demonstrations with certain birds.
Open Hunt is held each year at the beginning of November. If you missed the 2011 hunt, catch us next year in 2012. Reminders will be announced at the castle of Muskogee’s ren-fair as well as on Royal Gauntlet’s blog. . . . so come to the Castle of Muskogee to see the birds that were at open hunt. The ren-fair is held every weekend in May!
