I know. Every day is special for mothers when you are a Mom. Moms deserve to be celebrated daily…but sometimes we take every day people for granted. Moms are special. Moms are the ones who are there for you from the first moment of your life up until the very last day of hers…No one can be what your mom is to you. Take the day to celebrate HER…in 2016…and include her Mom… Check it out!
are a wonderful gift for mother’s day.
What is that you ask? Well I posted a blog on that earlier but here’s a refresher: “Generation Portraits” are special portraits that include usually three or more family members from three or more generations. For example: my mother, myself and my daughter in one portrait together would be a “generation portrait” showcasing three generations of women in our family.
This is a generation portrait. What are the numbers for? The first lady in this portrait passed away some time ago. The photo of her was taken in 1973. Her daughter next to her passed away a few years later and her photo shown here was taken in 1983. A photo of the matriarchal line to share with future generations was desired. I put my artistic skills to work with the materials in possession. Here is that result. A generation portrait showing the women who have been key influences in someone’s life and of whom they are a direct descendant. Now…that special offer I mentioned…From Now (April 12th, 2016) through May 2nd, 2016–> Misha’s Photography & Restoration is offering this style of generation portraits to YOU! May 2nd will be the LAST day for sessions to be done. Mother’s Day is May 8th, 2016.
IF you are interested in YOUR OWN generations portrait, please visit our contact page and make an appointment OR request a special order. Here’s how!
Fill out your name, email, phone, and in the comments section write: “Special Order Generations Portrait”. Someone from our office will contact you for more information within 24 hours of your contact form being sent to us (usually).

I know you probably read the title of this blog and thought you were going to see a bunch of kids’ portraits for Easter, right? I hope you aren’t disappointed. I wanted to do something a little more original this year. I want to display a portrait of Easter.
Are you wondering what I mean by that? How would you paint (or create) a portrait of Easter? East conjures so many memories and so many meanings….each is different for ever individual person that reads this.
When I think of Easter, I think of the childhood memories with my familly…the new outfit my grandmother had made for me, the Easter basket with candy and toys, the church service that would be taking place that Sunday…and the dinner and egg hunt that would happen after church.
I also think of the symbolism (for me) and this may of course be different for you….we each have our own thoughts, images, and memories that make up what we believe and how we perceive things.
If I was to create a “Portrait of Easter”, I would start with a glorious sunrise filled with birdsongs on a cool but not chilled foggy morning…..though this isn’t a foggy morning…it is a golden sun:

September’s end brings in a new season….Autumn! I love the changing of the seasons. Fall has always been one of my favorites as an adult. The colors and the change in hustle of life during this season is a bit slower and yet full of vigor and excitement. The children love it because it brings Halloween, trick-or-treating and CANDY! Can you blame them?
As a photographer, dressing up around this time of year is a GREAT time to take photos that are unique to each individual who wants a fall portrait in costume or in regular every day outfits. The backgrounds are awesome at this time of year when the leaves start changing and different things start blooming…. and that is to say nothing of the desserts that come into season during the fall! 🙂
Call or email and get your Halloween or harvest photo session done today! And don’t forget to check out the local haunts of the season either!
Each Bride is unique. Each wedding event and celebration should fit her personality. Saint Patrick’s Day was her theme (of course) so naturally the party had to be held on St. Patty’s Day weekend. Thanks Girls…
for a wonderful night of celebrating the coming wedding….
This weekend is Saint Patrick’s Day! How are you celebrating it?
I love taking photos on St. Patty’s Day. Parades, people dressing out in green, pots of “gold” and plenty of rainbows to follow for that pot of gold… Lots of FUN! I look forward to sharing photos with you here…. check back next week to see what I shot over the weekend. (see you soon)

WE SURVIVED!…Was there truly, ever, any doubt?? How did you celebrate? The year 2012 has been interesting. I have friends that plan on watching “2012” to “celebrate” that the earth is still turning and 2012 was not the end of the world….Personally, I went out to dinner at one of my favorite Pubs with my best and dearest friend and had a cider….it’s always nice to add another memory with someone special….
“The things we have survived….”
That phrase means so many different things to many different people. In the year 2012, what does it mean for you?
The old year is fading and the new year is arriving! Usually that is a celebration that lasts all night. Some believe the way you ring in the new year and spend that first day is a foreshadowing of the year to come and how it will play out. However and whenever you choose to celebrate… have fun, stay safe, and keep your friends close as you make those memories for sharing later. 😀
Oh, and FOOTBALL!…I like the parades too. However you celebrate this particular holiday, I hope it brings you lots of joy, family, and friends.
I will be taking home photos of my daughter in the kitchen. I’m sure if there is a game on, it will be viewed in our house as well….maybe even a game of catch out in the front yard… Memories are fun to make. I am looking forward to time with my family…and I will miss the family members that are celebrating in other places.
I have to admit, I wasn’t until today….but some of what I want to shop for is from the Halloween era but spills over into Christmas ..which I can’t specify at the moment cause it will give away the gift I shopped for today…if I haven’t done so already. 😛
Now is the best time to still get it done early! You see, Christmas stuff is out and the stores are still trying to make room for all the merchandise that will be coming in for black friday….and the malls are NOT crowded YET! Photos also make a wonderful gift. If you have some fun photos and would like a collage made for that unique gift…we can do THAT! What ever you have to shop for and whom ever it is for….Have a wonderful holiday (Christmas! or whatever you happen to celebrate this time of year!)
I know you are probably tired of hearing me say that but it is so true. It is the time for fun and lots of events are taking place. Check out Haunted Castle at the Castle of Muskogee. I love costumes and photos and people! This is the perfect time and place for both!
Numerous costume parties, chances to dress up with your friends and visit the castle of Muskogee (costumes are not required–but that is part of the fun in my opinion!), good food, good eats, great treats! 😀
