Thirteen Days of Halloween: FIVE

This session was a lot of fun. Children don’t often have a long attention span before they are school age and sometimes this discourages people to take up projects like this one. Pets tend to have even less of an attention span…depending on the breed and personality. ¬†This young lady is a ball of energy and “Toto” was too. We did have a LOT of fun shooting and my little model loved getting dressed up to go out and play. ūüėÄ Meet “Dorothy and Toto…her little dog too”.

Costume FUN!

What will you be this Halloween?

September’s end brings in a new season….Autumn! I love the changing of the seasons. Fall has always been one of my favorites as an adult. The colors and the change in hustle of life during this season is a bit slower and yet full of vigor and excitement. The children love it because it brings Halloween, trick-or-treating and CANDY! Can you blame them?

As a photographer, dressing up around this time of year is a GREAT time to take photos that are unique to each individual who wants a fall portrait in costume or in regular every day outfits. The backgrounds are awesome at this time of year when the leaves start changing and different things start blooming…. and that is to say nothing of the desserts that come into season during the fall! ūüôā

Call or email and get your Halloween or harvest photo session done today! And don’t forget to check out the local haunts of the season either!

Oktober Fest 2012 happens during fall break! (October 18 thru October 21)!

Holidays…part 3

OCTOBER!!! Yes, it is finally here!

If you live in the Tulsa, OK area, then October brings the State Fair, the Haunted Castle, Oktoberfest, and many other things to do!

The Tulsa State Fair is a tradition and I can’t wait to get out and do some shooting at the fair this year. That will be new for me. I love new things and new experiences!

The Haunted Castle in Muskogee is a lot of fun too! If you have ever attended the renaissance fair there in May, then Haunted Castle is a blast! If you are looking for a costume for Halloween, Haunted Castle is a GREAT place to get some wonderful ideas! The cast is of course in costume but so are a lot of the visitors. And the costumes you will see are amazing! Something else you are very likely to see at the Castle of Muskogee’s Haunted castle is Royal Gauntlet and their Birds of Prey! Always a joy and a thrill….Eurasian Eagle Owls, Harris Hawks, and more!

Oktoberfest always brings a laugh and lots of music and fun!

Enjoy October and don’t forget to add some fun: call a photographer and spice up your fall photo session with some¬†Halloween¬†fun!

Love the Holidays (part 2)

Ok…I know it’s still September, but the days are getting shorter and cooler. I love fall mornings, soft, cool, and clear even when there’s fog. I know that doesn’t seem to make much sense….but foggy mornings –crisp, cool, and soft —make me feel more clear minded.

This is the season to be a kid. If you missed last year’s post, check it out.

Fall is an awesome time! You get to dress up, bake, eat, and spend time with friends! Who doesn’t enjoy things like that? So, tell me¬†what you like about the season! I am listening….(leave a comment or email me at: misha@mishasphotography.com)

Oklahoma Renaissance Faire: Muskogee Oklahoma

Ren-Faire Season!

It has begun! Or at least it begins this weekend! OKRF is the short version of Oklahoma Renaissance Faire. It is held EVERY May at the Castle of Muskogee located (where else?) in Muskogee, Oklahoma USA.

I love faire season. Muskogee is the closest faire to me so it is the main one I attend. It has a lot to offer whether you are a photographer, people watcher, or just like to get out and have fun!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

If you like to dress up, there are plenty of places to get new costumes or to add to an existing one. I love multi-use pieces and costumes! Halloween is a great time to dig out bits and pieces or the whole costume and be an original! Most people don’t even associate the costume with Renaissance Faires. They just think it’s cool! My favorite is of course Damsel In This Dress! Michelle makes the most awesome outfits.

Check out her shop at OKRF
Check out the coolest corsets at OKRF!

They go great with everything! ūüėÄ

People watching and joining in the fun is an awesome time at Oklahoma Ren-Faire too! There are games, shopping, and plenty of entertainment! Check out the castle website for more details…and they are on facebook too where acts and ¬†venders have been featured as a preview!

My favorite acts at OKRF are:

1. Royal Gauntlet birds of prey….this is where I spend most of my time! I can’t get enough! So stop by…you’ll find the show in the jousting arena. Check the programs for times or find a falconer….

2. The Jolly Rogers…..my pirate fix! I love pirates. The Jolly Rogers are a singing pirate group. They sing folk songs and sea chanties. I promise you will laugh!

Come to faire! Then share your experience with comments made HERE!
