This year, Misha’s Photography and Restoration has taken the Mother Road to the studio. Have your Senior Session done on location OR In-Studio and still bring a bit of History and Retro uniqueness to YOUR Senior Session. Rt 66 travels through 8 states total and connects Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, California! Tulsa and several small towns around it were a big part of the Mother Road. Today, Rt 66 is still an amazing road trip full of adventure and nostalgia. Book your senior session Today!
Rt 66 runs through Oklahoma from the northeast corner of the state at the town of Quapaw, OK to the western edge not quite to the southwestern corner at the town of Erick, OK.
Quapaw, OK is a town in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 906 at the 2010 census, a slight decline from 984 as of the 2000 census. Quapaw is part of the Joplin, Missouri metropolitan area.
Erick, OKis the last Oklahoma stop on Historic Route 66 in western Oklahoma at Exit 7 on I-40. Erick is located on a 20 mile continuous stretch of Route 66 from the Oklahoma-Texas state line to Sayre, OK. Erick is also the home of singer / song writer / actor, Sheb Wooley (“RawHide“). Don’t have the time to drive to your Rt 66 location, but still want that photo on historic Rt 66? We can do that for you! We have been there! Choose your Historic Rt 66 background and Book Your Session Today!
Catoosa’s historic site was once an alligator farm…it was also once a swimming hole and water park where children celebrated SUMMER! If you have ever traveled RT 66 then you have passed this beautiful place in Oklahoma’s heritage and history.
They now have a gift store and take donations as the local historic site is kept up and run by the historical society (last I heard)….let us know if you’d like your next shoot to be at a cool historic site in Catoosa, OK.
Warm weather is almost here and schedules are getting busier by the minute.
I want to take a moment and say Thank You to some really important people. We all have volunteers in our community. Most Home Owners’ Associations (HOAs) are made up of volunteers. Some Fire and Rescue teams are made up of volunteers. Though our Police, Fire, and Military are not volunteers, their pay is not nearly equal to the time and efforts some give on a daily basis.
I had the privilege to give back to my community this weekend and will again next weekend. I write this not to communicate my efforts but those whom I get the opportunity to photograph in their efforts. This is my way of saying “Thank You” to those who volunteer and give more than most realize. Sometimes we all take for granted those things which are right in front of us…(myself included) and sometimes a thank you can make the hours, days, months of volunteer time worth every second. 🙂
For those of you reading this, if you have time, support your local volunteers and if you are around Catoosa on Saturday, April 4th, 2015–come and enjoy the Easter Egg Hunt that Rolling Hills Fire Department is hosting from 12:00 noon until 2:00pm.
