Spring Time Wonders

Spring time brings out the volunteers in our community as well as the first responders. Let’s support our community and make our neighborhoods a better place to live.

Spring brings new life in so many ways. The plant life are blooming. The weather is nice enough to be outdoors more regularly. April showers bring May flowers…and fires keep fire fighters on their toes… storms keep the storm chasers busy so we stay informed.  While that sounds like positive to negative, it is just truth. Our Emergency management organizations and public servants for city and county alike are very busy this time of year also. How does this relate to photography?

I do event photography as well. I am hoping that YOU will join the Wagoner County Emergency Management team this SATURDAY–March 25th for the Expo they are hosting at Coweta Intermediate High School.

Photos of this event will be posted in a gallery (click here) so check back and see what happened at the Expo! eventphotofull_wcepse20logo20with20hat

There is a scheduled blood drive to take place at the Expo as well…so be sure to sign up for that too! Can’t wait to watch the Fire Fighter Challenge! Will Your Team win?

Events: Emergency Preparedness Expo

We visited the Emergency Preparedness Expo this past Saturday (March 26th). Have you heard of it? Tis the season–tornado season — when emergency responders in Oklahoma are kept very busy. Between tornadoes, fires, and floods, spring creates LOTS of work for these crews and the volunteers involved.

It was a beautiful day to be outside. I know a lot of the families were out doing community Easter Egg Hunts–such fun for the kids…but there was a nice turn out at the Expo too. We had many of our Fire Departments compete in a “Fire Fighter’s Challenge” event to show YOU what they are trained for in a more fun and entertaining environment. EVENTS-FireFighterChallenge-collage2016BLOG-sm(Rolling Hills, Oak Grove, Wagoner Fire Department, Flat Rock, White Horn, Coweta Fire Department). These kinds  of events are great for you to get to know those who serve your community and for them to get to know you as well. Events like the Emergency Preparedness Expo also give you valuable information should you ever find yourself in need of it.

Do you know what to do or who is involved in emergency situations? Well anyone who is, could be, might be were there at the Expo on Saturday. We enjoyed seeing the Air EVENTS-EmrgncyPrepEXPO2-collage2016BLOGsmEvac Lifeteam land their helicopter at the event. Saturday’s Air Evac team was from Muskogee. THANK YOU for being their Saturday! This is always great fun for the kids as they get to see the inside of a helicopter and even sit inside if they wish… The Air Evac Lifeteam is also on hand for questions and one on one interaction. Fun and Education all at the same time! Imagine.

On top of that we also enjoyed watching the canine rescue teams demonstrate their techniques. The rescue dogs are a joy beyond measure to watch and seemed to enjoy showing off their skills also! Emergency Management was there with literature and a trophy for the winners of the Fire Fighter Challenge. The trophy will travel to each winning station year after year! So be sure to come out next year to support your local station!

EVENTS-EmrgncyPrepEXPO-collage2016BLOG-smWe visited with the Broken Arrow Police Department and got to check out their “Share the Road” program which is about motor cycle safety awareness. Many Police departments all over Wagoner County attended the Expo. The DAV had a mobile unit set up as well as the Oklahoma Blood Institute and the American Red Cross. Water Safety was also there. Storm Shelter companies like Atlas Safe Rooms were there. If you haven’t seen them, you can find them at Woodland Hills Mall now. The County Sheriff was in attendance as was AEP. It was a great time to wander and ask questions and learn about emergencies when there isn’t one in progress. Often times we don’t bother until it is needed and then we miss a lot of necessary information. I am hoping next year is bigger and better! Check out our photo gallery of the event! Coweta American was there and also has a gallery. I am sure that we didn’t catch everything there so Check out the Chamber and the Newspaper. Visit the links and the facebook pages. This is an annual event so please, check out the companies here and bookmark their links. Visit and support them as part of your community. Keep in touch and visit the Expo in 2017!

Welcome 2016

Check out our year in review of 2015.

Happy New Year!

Welcome 2016…Good-bye to 2015. With photos, there really isn’t a “good-bye.” Photos help you remember and share all those FUN times as many times as you wish to relive the moment (or share it with as many friends and family members as possible).

Let me share with you the best memories from Misha’s Photography & Restoration of 2015. This includes events, portraits, etc. I want to say Thank You to all who purchased event photos, to all those wonderful people who had portraits done, and to those who revisit us every year for MORE photographic adventures.

Best of 2015-MPR-RHFD

Rolling Hills Fire Department (RHFD) is a wonderful group of men and women who devote A LOT of time to their community. It is a great opportunity to help them by photographing some of their community events since 2012. Thank You RHFD for all that YOU DO!  🙂

Best of 2015-MPR-BA Orchestra-logo

Here is a look at some of the Orchestra concerts for Broken Arrow High School. This includes Freshman Academy. I try to shoot at least one photo of every teen on stage. The display here is just the panoramic view of the entire stage area for each orchestra category.

This is a display of some of the visitors at Oklahoma Renaissance Festival from May of 2015. These are NOT the Castle’s “best of” choices. These are the best choices within Misha’s Photograph & Restoration. Visiting the Castle of Muskogee each season has been very enjoyable. I adore people and photography. This community event is a great time to have fun with a camera and capture a variety of adventures.

Best of 2015-MPR-OKRF Pirates

Best of Pirates. This display is mostly Acts that you will see at the Castle. Pictured above are members of “the Jolly Rogers” and members of “the Musical Blades” with a couple of extras peeking in for a visit. For more information on these pirate groups, check them out on Facebook: The Jolly Rogers and Musical Blades.

Best of 2015-MPR-OKRF Comedy

Angus is an all time favorite. OKRF would not be OKRF without this wonderful Scotsman stopping visitors and passers by through Angus Land. The Brothers Dimm has always been a favored stop on Mother’s Day and what would fair be without a Tribal Circus and the Jester Rejects? These are by no means the only comedies available at OKRF. I did not make as many shows as planned so please, check it out this coming May in 2016 and Maybe I’ll see you there (or here in next year’s “best of” post).

Best of 2015-MPR-OKRF

Here’s is one more OKRF display…wonderful things to see at the Castle: The Mermaid Grotto, the Memorial Day Parade (a tribute to Veterans); The Joust; Dancing; and much, much more!
