Photography by Misha

Dear Reader,

Nice to Meet You.
Hello! I am Misha…

I know this blog isn’t always seemingly about photography. I suppose sometimes I see things a little differently. Different is good.

Photography is life. If you didn’t live life and enjoy the moments life gives you, what would you have to photograph?

Many photographers specialize. Specialization is a good thing. It continues to help us evolve and create new occupations, positions in life and that evolution is too wide to discuss here. I love life! I love photography. When I started taking pictures, it was to memorize and freeze time….the only way I knew how….in pictures. I wanted to photograph EVERYTHING!

My interests are varied and my hobbies span the board from fitness and exercise to birds, plants, and travel. I find too many choices to just choose ONE.

I love PEOPLE! People make things unique. No two people are alike in every way. No two photographs are alike in every way. The photographs and pictures used to illustrate this blog were edited and/or created by me…(unless other wise stated here!).

If you would like to see a shortened version that is purely photographs, please visit my photo blog for a new photo posted each week. In the mean time, enjoy life and it’s wonderful treasures! … and don’t forget about the WEBSITE and Galleries!

Cinco de Mayo at the Castle!

At the Castle for Cinco de Mayo!

How did you spend your weekend?

I spent mine shutter-bugging at the Castle of Muskogee! The Castle hosted it’s 18th annual opening weekend of “the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival”. The festival takes place every Saturday and Sunday from May 4th through June 2nd of 2013.  It’s a great place to experience new and old things alike. You can see craftsman that still do blacksmithing and ladies that keep the art of spinning alive. You can find jewelry makers, book sellers, clothiers, and all sorts of entertainers at the Castle this month.

Come fly with us at the Castle!

You can see pirates, sword fights, jousting and dancing, a live chess match, belly dancers, and the children can get knighted or become ladies-in-waiting. You can visit the Italian quarter and see a tribal circus; visit Angus’ land and buy a kilt; take a carriage ride; see a birds of prey show; the possibilities are endless! 😀

If you saw the Birds of Prey show this weekend or you catch it any time this year during fair, PLEASE!–visit theRoyalGauntlet.com and leave some feedback telling the creators what you thought of the show.

….there is more to come….see what else we find this year at the Castle of Muskogee!

Tales of Mother Nature

May is a wonderful month in Oklahoma.

The weather changes from day to day if not minute to minute. while this can be challenging to an outdoor photographer, it is awesome! I love a challenge! This week, I had a wonderful opportunity to shoot some nature shots…just sort of looking around.

Fairy Tales...Roses
What story does this remind you of?

I love nature. Flowers offer a wide variety of photographic opportunities. This particular shot reminds me of a favorite childhood faery tale. Can you tell me which one I might be thinking of??

Take a guess! (leave it in the comment section)…..

Nature offers many things that people sometimes get too busy to see. I like to remind myself of the small ever-present things I tend to take for granted.

What did I do?
Squirrel Vision

This was comical! This little red squirrel looked over at me as if to say “What? You have never seen a squirrel before?”

Nature has an expression! Several I am sure…probably more than I can experience and share. But I will give it a shot!

Flowers by the pond
Flowers by the pond

In poetry books, I use to see illustrations of picnics by a pond or some such similar scene.

This shot reminds me of those poetry books, picnics in summer, and calming moments that are rarely seen any more due to the hustle and bustle of our busy life in today’s technology driven world.

What does it remind you of?

Do you have a special place? A spot that makes time stand still? this lovely little vision could be one such place to someone….

Flowing Waters
Flowing Waters

Waterfalls represent so many things…

the flow of time, the streams of life and it’s journey, the calming sound of rushing water that let the spirit revive itself and breathe…

Waterfalls are a favorite of mine. Don’t forget to share yours! send me a photo or leave a comment.

Nature is a wonderful teacher…life is an amazing journey! Please, share them through photos.

If you would like a portrait done in your favorite nature setting…shoot me an email or give me a call!

Photography is a wonderful way to share life with those who aren’t as close as you would like them.
