Twenty-Nineteen is a NEW year…and yes, I know we are currently on day 46 of the new year. That doesn’t seem very new…however, we have 319 days of adventure left. Each day is a new adventure so that means we have 319 adventures left to enjoy! Where will you travel over those days?

I have explored the Mother Road or one small section of it in 2019. I have visited Parsons, KS for a photo exploration and a visit with a Jeep enthusiast and Car Expert.
I have traveled to the region in the Midwest of the United States to Ozarks’ “Wine Country” and “Little Germany”. In Hermann, MO, you can go antiquing, visit several wineries, take a train ride to St. Louis or Kansas City, and explore nature on a hike or take a wine trail…. The possibilities are amazing. Don’t forget zip-lining too (in season of course)!

I have also traveled to Jenks, Oklahoma to visit some historians and aviation enthusiasts! Do you like planes?  Are you a history buff? Do you like the 1940’s and learning about WWII up close and personal? Check out the restoration I got to visit here. This is my second WWII plane. My first was a B-17 Bomber in 2016. Well, it might be more interesting after you see these photos! See MORE WWII photos Here! Join the adventures! Create your own #AdventuresWithMisha2019 ! Let’s take a trip!

Tea Time Traditions

Tea Time Traditions are many.

Tea has a history in America dating back to the colonies when the Boston Tea Party took place. While I would love to shoot a re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party, I am actually offering a different setting that has actually become a quaint childhood right of passage for many young ladies through time.

Curious yet? I am actually talking of Tea  Time picnics in the garden or the backyard…or where ever your heart takes you on an adventure. Imagination IS the limitOne special young lady and I had Tea Time with Teddy by the pond.  She became princess for the day with tarts and cake and teddy by the “lake.”

Picnics are special for every young girl from the age of three to at least the age of seven…some hang on to the tradition a lot longer {like the child in all of us~Adventures are grand things no matter our age or status in life}. Throughout September and October, we would love to shoot a “Tea Time Picnic” with you or your princess (or prince)–or let’s make it a Family Picnic! There are many tea time options for every imaginative person reading this. Take a look:

  • Tea Time with Teddy (1 or more–up to 6)
  • Tea with Mommy and Me
  • Tea Time Princess with (Daddy) the King
  • Mad Hatter Tea Party (group of 2 to 8) … “Who Are You?” …{Alice, the Mad Hatter, Door Mouse, March Hare, Red Queen, White Queen, Tweedle Dee/Dum, the Cheshire Cat, a Cards-men, Absolum-the caterpillar?}…
  • Tea Time with Your Lovely Lady (couples)
  • Tea Time with Friends (group of 2 to 8) …friends can be your group of gal pals, gals & guys, a child and their doll collection (American Dolls ~for example)
**all adventures may be shot on location or in studio…
each setting and adventure is unique to you and your party.

Let’s have a Party!

Back To School: 2015-16

Back-To-School season is here. Everyone has passed that very busy “first day” and all the photos and shopping trips. Now you can relax and look forward to open house night and fall school photos.

Senior Portraits, Holiday Family Photos, Themed Sessions all are popular in the Fall season.
Senior Portraits, Holiday Family Photos, Themed Sessions all are popular in the Fall season.

Back to school also begins the holiday season activities for fall. The weather is cooling off and everyone is getting excited to see the heatwave that hits us during Oklahoma Summers pass by to be dreamed back up during the freezing spells that winter brings. But I am getting too far ahead.

Two things to consider right now:

  1. Fall Photos: These come in two varieties.
    1. The first is that family portrait everyone sends out with (or for) the Christmas Card season. Holiday portraits take time and energy to put together for a lot of families because this season is so busy. Back to school is over and then comes PTA; then Halloween planning; thanksgiving baking and Christmas cards (or holiday cards depending on your celebration/event); and then the yuletide shopping.
    2. The second is Senior Portraits. Senior Portraits can be done at any point in the school year but it is best to book them early. If you want Fall photos, you need to keep in mind the time change and when the daylight hours start getting shorter. morning and evening light are best if you are looking for an outdoor shoot. With the Oklahoma weather, we all know that the cold season can start anytime around mid October (or can wait until mid December)…IF you want an indoor, on-location shoot then the weather won’t really make a difference with regards to photos…however travel is still a consideration. Plan ahead and book early. Be sure to include the school activities you are involved in this year. 🙂
  2. Themed Photos: Why mention themed photos? Fall means cooler weather. Cooler weather means more outdoor, on-location comfort for those costumes that require a lot of layers and/or make-up. Oklahoma summer heatwaves can cause discomfort or at the least a bit of inconvenience when your theme requires layers of fur, armor, make-up, etc. Though you don’t want to wait for the winter months to set in either unless of course you require that white winter wonderland 🙂 though we can work on that during post process or during scene set-ups too.We would love to get together with YOU this Back to school season to have some photo-FUN. Give us a shout! You can find us on Facebook, online, or you can shoot us an email or text message. Come find us and book YOUR session TODAY!

Portraits

What is a Portrait?

Webster’s dictionary defines it this way:

1. a painting, drawing, or photograph of a person that usually only includes the person’s head and shoulders; 2.a detailed description of something or someone; 3. a way of printing a page so that the shorter sides are on the top and bottom and the longer sides are on the left and right.orFull Definition of PORTRAIT:     1 picture; especially :  a pictorial representation of a person usually showing the face;  2 a sculptured figure :  bust;  3 a graphic portrayal in words

What I consider a portrait:

“a portrait is a fitting likeness of an individual, place or thing which portrays the subject’s personality, lifestyle, and/or character through a photograph or a painting.”

Portraits can be taken of a home or piece of property, person, or a pet/animal. We commonly use “photograph” instead of “portrait” as the word “portrait” is more personal.

Portraits are used to measure changes in the growth of children, to capture lifestyles, and to capture a special occasion which one or more would like to remember for all time.

We like to celebrate and share moments like:

  • Baby’s first year;

  • A teen’s last year of school (senior year);
  • A daughter/son’s wedding;
  • College Graduations
  • Parent’s silver anniversary;
  • Special Achievements
  • Military Service
  • Engagements
  • Reunions
  • Promotions

All of these are great things and wonderful moments to celebrate.We all wish to remember and share special times with loved ones. That is what portraits are for. . . . . . . What was your last celebration? When?

Family is always a good thing to celebrate as are friendships! So. . . what are you waiting for? Let’s take some Portraits!

Welcome Two Thousand Fourteen

Welcome Two Thousand Fourteen!

Pictured above was the last adventure for 2013. My Family and I took a Midwestern Ski Trip to Weston, MO. Yes, you did read that correctly. I said “midwestern ski trip” to Missouri. 🙂

Snow Creek Resort is a wonderful little place located in Weston, MO that is perfect for a weekend ski trip for a family of any size. It isn’t a resort in the sense of week long visits to a lodge on a mountain side. But it is a great little mini vacation location when you don’t have time to spend a week at a Mountain side resort in Colorado or Arizona or further away.

Twenty-Thirteen was a good year. It had many good points and is now part of the past. With that change in numbers from 2013 to 2014 comes a new beginning. With that new beginning also comes room for new adventures. That is the part I look forward to. Adventures are what life’s journey is made of…we each have our own to experience and hopefully share. Some adventures are great successes and others we’d rather had not happened. They each make up who we become and help us discover what we want and where we want to be or where we want to go in the future.

May “twenty-fourteen” offer you many new adventures of the successful variety and may many more dreams come true!

Happy New Year!
