Event: King Author’s Court

April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of 2016 marked the 40th annual medieval fair for Norman, Oklahoma. It’s free to attend this medieval fair and a great way to kick off the fair season in the midwest. We haNormanMedievalFairA-2016.jpgd a wonderful time. We met up with Frank Kieth and his wonderful sculptures. We saw Michelle and her lovely assortment of corsetry! We saw many, many vendors and some wonderful shows as well.

This fair is great for interacting with characters, people watching and even pet watching! We saw dogs of all shapes and sizes and even some in costume! There was also a bearded dragon and some Birds of Prey!
The live action chess game was absolutely wonderful!NormanMedievalFairB-2016.jpg Have you ever seen such a thing? Fear not! if by some misbegotten chance you missed Norman’s lovely fair and shopping opportunity, you can visit the Castle of Muskogee in May. They also have a live action chess match… though you won’t see King Author or Queen Guinevere. Though you could chance to catch a live action chess match and a mermaid grotto…

King Author’s court at Norman was a lovely day and the weather was altogether grand for the celebration. The food is wonderful and of great variety…and the people are many!
